Overview
Protein Pro (the “App”) is provided by Rue Srl ("we", "us"). The App helps you track protein intake and build consistent habits. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
Data We Collect
- Account and Profile (if available): basic details you provide, such as name, email, and goals.
- App Content: foods you log, photos you choose to analyze with AI, notes, and preferences.
- Usage and Device Data: interactions with features, app version, and device information used to improve stability and performance.
- Apple Health (optional): if you grant permission, we may read and/or write relevant nutrition or activity data to help you track progress.
How We Use Data
- Provide core features (logging, summaries, reminders, and personalized targets).
- Process photos with AI to estimate protein and other nutrients when you request it.
- Maintain and improve the App, including troubleshooting and safety.
- Communicate updates, tips, and important service notices.
Apple Health and Health Data
Integrations with Apple Health are optional and controlled by you in Apple Health permissions. Health data accessed via HealthKit is used solely to provide or improve health features in the App. We do not use HealthKit data for marketing, advertising, data brokers, or unrelated purposes, and we do not sell HealthKit data. You can revoke permissions at any time in the Apple Health app.
Data Sharing
- Service Providers: we may share limited data with vendors who process it on our behalf (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics) under strict confidentiality and security obligations.
- Legal Requirements and Safety: we may disclose information to comply with law, protect rights, or prevent harm.
- No Sale of Personal Data: we do not sell your personal data.
Data Retention
We keep data for as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business needs (e.g., security, backups), unless a longer retention is required by law. You can request deletion as described below.
No Tracking
We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. We do not ask for tracking permission, we do not use Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA), and we do not participate in advertising networks or retargeting.
Services We Use
To run the App and understand what works, we rely on trusted services:
- PostHog (product analytics): helps us understand feature usage to improve the App. We use a pseudonymous ID (not your name or email) stored securely on your device.
- Firebase (analytics and crash reports): helps keep the App reliable and fix issues.
- Superwall (paywall): manages purchase screens. It is not an advertising network.
We do not combine analytics with advertising data and we do not sell your data.
Analytics
Analytics are used only to improve features, performance, and reliability. They do not use the IDFA and are not used for advertising or tracking across other apps or websites.
App Privacy (iOS) — Summary
For App Store disclosure: we do not use data to track you. We may collect limited usage data, a pseudonymous identifier, optional Health data you allow, and diagnostics to keep the App working. None of these are used for cross‑app tracking.
Your Rights and Choices
- Access, correction, deletion, and export of your data, where applicable.
- Opt in/out of certain communications in the App settings (where available).
- For EU/UK/EEA users: you may have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to object or restrict processing.
- For California residents: you may have rights under CCPA/CPRA.
To exercise rights, use in‑app Help or the contact method below. We may need to verify your request.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
International Transfers
Data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections for international transfers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, when appropriate, provide additional notice in the App.
